A vision of OCW for the future (via The Tech)

The Tech, MIT’s student newspaper, recently published an edition with some great coverage of the MOOC phenomenon, as well as a nice article on the future of OCW in a world of MOOCs. Here’s a quote from that piece by Director of Digital Learning Sanjay Sarma:

MITx and OCW serve very different purposes. MITx is a class — students follow a fixed schedule with predetermined deadlines, while students using OCW can go at their own pace. There are some who prefer one to the other … the future of OCW is bright, and it could be the place we place the nuggets that make up an MITx class.

The piece is a wonderful window into how OCW and MITx complement one another.
